“I actually wrote Belushi back in 2014. I was tired of the same annoying, ambitionless, commercial, cookie-cutter music that was being accepted into the mainstream. I was gripped with a deep desire to just wash it out of existence, stand up for the true essence of music... start a revolution.
I released the song in early 2020, racial and social injustice still alarming as ever, and found the song taking on whole different meanings, but the message remaining the same. If anything, it has more purpose, power, and relevance now than when I first wrote it, and that shows how desperately necessary change really is." - Chief Cleopatra
